Casey Courville hails from Lafayette, LA, and has been playing music for over decade. He boasts quite the eclectic set list crossing all genres of popular music. His unique spin on well known songs make you feel like you're hearing them for the first time.  

His vocal influences include soulful singers like Otis Redding and Percy Sledge, and folk/pop singers such as Tracy Chapman and Dave Matthews. As a child of the 90's he is also partial to top rock bands of the era, such as Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Collective Soul, and Weezer.

At Casey's acoustic show, you never know what you'll get next, but one thing is certain, he plays something for everyone.

He also entertained audiences for 20 years at Mr. Lester’s Steakhouse inside Cypress Bayou Casino. New album (“Exiles”) set for Thanksgiving Day digital release!

“O’ Brother, Where Art Thou?” revived traditional folk music, a nearly lost genre of

storytelling. Drew Landry, a budding songwriter from South Louisiana was inspired by the mix

of traditional country, cajun, blues, and folk artists that would play at his Hony-Tonk. “ I

followed that muse through the archives of Jimmie Rodgers, Leadbelly & Woody Guthrie. I

began writing folk songs while tending bar & pulling Cypress out of the Atchafalaya Basin.

Music aficionados and fellow artists began to take notice, as Landry was shared the stage

with legends like Merle Haggard, Dr, John, Dwight Yoakum, Robert Earl Keen, David Allen

Coe, Hank Williams III, Slim Harpo’s band, Billy Joe Shaver, Charles Louvin, and Doug

Kershaw.

Landry’s first album, “Keep What’s Left” found critical acclaim. Americana.uk called it,

“the equivalent to Lomax’s field recordings for the 21st century. The Tailgating Relief EP told

the story of the Hurricanes of 2005, and “Sharecropper’s Whine,” Landry’s third album, was

hailed as a “landmark Cajun-inspired masterwork,” by Country Chart. Live Nation also featured

the troubadour as an “artist to watch” and Landry began to make a name for himself.

After performing a few songs at a show with Kris Kristofferson, the songwriting legend

told the crowd that Landry’s state of the Union address,” Last Man Standing” was “the best

songwriting he’d heard in thirty years,”—high praise from one of Landry’s primary influences.

Landry doesn’t just pen lyrics, he walks the walk, spending his off time helping his fellow man

rebuild after natural disasters and navigate the trauma that results. The troubadour wrote

Category 5 while helping people in Louisiana recover from hurricanes Katrina and Rita. A

military veteran of the National Guard, Landry wrote Veterans Drive after visiting with VFW

residents at the V A Medical Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Landry also dedicated himself to

creating a database that helped to locate missing persons from Tribal Nations in Montana. His

music video for Hey Sister brings home the stark reality of the Missing persons crisis in indian

Country..

The explosion of the Deepwater Horizon in 2010 and the subsequent environmental crisis

prompted Landry to create a documentary, “The Restoration,” which showcased the plight of

those who lost their livelihoods in South Louisiana. Landry’s song, BP Blues went viral, and

landed him a deal with Warner Bros. He then co-produced a Bobby Charles-inspired EP, Solution

to Pollution, with Mac Rebennack (Dr. John) at Dockside Studio. “Mac was unafraid to tell the

truth about the struggles of Commercial fishing families and the toll that the BP spill took on our

estuaries and our first responders. We gave them a voice.”

Landry firmly believes that music can create awareness and foster change for the better,

and he has spent his career encouraging people to care about what’s happening in the world

around them. But everything comes with a cost, and while helping the people in South Louisiana

after the oil spill, Landry was involved in a collision with an oilfield waste truck and nearly lost

his life. That experience forced him to face his mortality and sent him on a journey ofself-discovery in remote locations such as Alaska, where he worked on a series of short films

with tribal communities. Then it was on to Northern Montana, where he found a new home in the

Blackfeet Nation. Landry served the community there as an extension agent while writing a new

album, titled “Exiles,” as he recovered from the accident.

This past Summer, Landry was back on the Festival circuit with shows at Jazzfest and

Under the Big Sky (Montana’s largest Country Music Festival). He also appeared at the Fire in

the Mountains festival for Suicide prevention, organized the North Country Ramble (an was

annual week-long songwriters showcase in Glacier National Park) and the season wraps up with

Landry headlining the Cow Island Live Festival in South Louisiana on November 15th.

The band will be routing through Louisiana, Texas & Tennessee. Landry resides with his

family in Montana, but snowbirds back to Louisiana each winter to write & record new tunes.
